Eligibility

Eligibility for the Program

The program is specifically intended for ‘tough tech’ innovations, including those based on materials, chemistry, biology, hardware and devices.

Successful applicants are ideally about one year from completing their time at MIT; senior graduate students and postdocs who are prepared to focus on a career transition are specifically sought. All applicants are required to obtain a statement of support from their faculty advisors. If the recipient is a graduate student, the Kavanaugh Fellowship should be complementary to the thesis research; it should not be a distraction from completion of the thesis or change the time to degree.
